Top Tips for Covering Climate Change and COP27

Reporting on climate change is becoming increasingly important in the Arab world, especially that the region will host both COP27 and COP28 in Egypt and UAE respectively. However, climate change is still considered underrepresented in Arabic media. Therefore, this workshop is aiming to introduce covering climate change, with a focus on COP reporting, to Arab journalists and media professionals, in order to ensure bridging the existing gap between climate science and society. The workshop will cover the basics of climate change science, resources and tools for climate change reporting, and top tips on covering COP.

ازدادت أهمية تغطية تغير المناخ في العالم العربي، خاصة وأن المنطقة ستستضيف كلا من مؤتمري كوب 27 وكوب 28 في مصر والإمارات على التوالي. ومع ذلك، لا يحظى تغير المناخ بتغطية كافية في الإعلام العربي. لذلك ، تهدف ورشة العمل هذه إلى تقديم تغطية تغير المناخ، مع التركيز على تغطية مؤتمر كوب، للصحفيين والإعلاميين العرب، بهدف رأب الفجوة القائمة بين علم المناخ والمجتمع. ستغطي ورشة العمل أساسيات علوم تغير المناخ، والموارد والأدوات لتغطية تغير المناخ ، وأهم النصائح حول تغطية مؤتمر كوب
