Desciption
We live in a time when trust in institutions is eroding, and this is evident in public attitudes toward both science and science journalism. These are also attitudes that allow scientific misinformation to flourish. This talk will both look in a data-driven way at the evidence for such mistrust, explore some of the reasons, and offer some proposals for how scientists can best do their job in a smart and trust-building way in this difficult environment.
