About Jaqueline Orgler Sordi

Sordi is a biologist and journalist who has been working in scientific and environmental communication for over 15 years. With a specialization in Sustainability from the University of California (UCLA) and a PHD in Communication from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), she has articles published in national and international media outlets, such as Agência Lupa, Folha de S. Paulo, Zero Hora, Mongabay, KCET and The Earth and I.

She has worked as journalist and editor for newspapers and magazines, and as project coordinator for non-governmental organizations (NGOs) such as Greenpeace and Climate Observatory.

Winner of two national, three regional and one international award in environmental journalism, she was one of the communication professionals nominated in 2021 for the “Comunique-se Award”, considered the Oscar of journalism in Brazil. In 2023, Jaqueline was one of the three Brazilian journalists selected in the Disarming Disinformation program, by the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ).
