For the first time, the Science Journalism Forum (SJF25) is expanding its scope to include both session proposals and research paper submissions, creating a unique platform for practitioners and academics to shape the future of science journalism. This milestone underscores our commitment to fostering a deeper connection between research and practice, ensuring the field remains innovative and responsive to emerging challenges.
Marking its first-ever hybrid edition, SJF25 will take place from October 27–30, 2025, in the UAE and online under the theme “Science Journalism at a Crossroads – Rethinking Trust, Funding, and Innovation,” combining the impact of in-person engagement with the accessibility of a global digital platform.
This dynamic forum serves as a global platform where professionals from diverse backgrounds come together to exchange insights and innovative ideas within the realm of science journalism. Facilitated in five languages—English, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, and French—SJF25 fosters meaningful dialogues and encourages active participation within a vibrant global community.
We invite science journalism experts, researchers, and practitioners to seize this opportunity to submit their proposals to speak at SJF25.
This year’s theme, “Science Journalism at a Crossroads – Rethinking Trust, Funding, and Innovation,” explores how the industry can adapt, sustain itself, and continue delivering credible, high-quality reporting in an era of financial uncertainty, shifting audience behaviors, and technological disruption.
We are looking for exceptional voices who can share compelling stories, innovative strategies, practical insights, and research-backed perspectives that align with and strengthen this year’s theme.
If you have expertise, innovative strategies, or transformative experiences to share, SJF25 is your stage. Whether in-person or online, your voice can help drive the evolution of science journalism and foster more effective storytelling.
Submissions for SJF25 are reviewed on a rolling basis. We encourage all interested individuals to apply early to enhance their chances of being selected.
This is your moment to inspire a global audience. Don’t miss this opportunity to be part of a transformative hybrid platform that advances science journalism worldwide!
