In this workshop we’ll discuss:

• What’s on this year’s COP agenda: Main themes and controversies
• Freelancing at COP: Practical tips on how to make sense of the endless portfolio of sessions and side events, how to pitch from and around the time of the conference (before or after)
• How to put political commitments into meaningful context: what is needed from rich countries will be different from what developing countries can and should offer – with examples from last year’s coverage of India’s pledges + others –
• Climate science: Understanding the main reports coming out around the conference and the IPCC language
