Impact of the first global hashtag for science communication in Spanish

The first hashtag for science communication in Spanish was born in 2018 as a result of an open participative process. In the next months, the hashtag experienced a massive growth. In this talk, I present a descriptive study of the activity of the hashtag between 2018 and 2021, showing that the hashtag has contributed to build an international and diverse community of users, including scientists, science communicators, journalists, research centres, and institutions reporting about science communication in Spanish in social networks.
