Desciption
The presentation starts from the concepts of fake news and disinformation networks to analyze their impacts on Brazilian science journalism podcasts. In a country where disinformation networks were strengthened by actions linked to the federal government during (but not restricted to) the COVID-19 pandemic, efforts to combat disinformation needed to be scaled up. We observe the creation of verification networks and the consolidation of collaborations. In the Brazilian context, the work of science communicators and scientific journalists was crucial in combating disinformation networks, especially in podcasting. We analyze the productions, but also the affectations of the dynamics of podcasting and digital platforms, such as circulation networks and informational bubbles.
