About Nouha Belaid

Nouha Belaid is a Ph.D. in media and communication. As a researcher, she has made a dozen scientific contributions in journalism and communication and has been a keynote speaker at international scientific events several times. In 2021, she joined the research group “Global Risk Journalism Hub” affiliated with Melbourne University.

Her interest in science journalism started with the emergence of COVID-19 in 2020. So she started creating online content about the virus, reclaiming good health for all, and contesting climate change in the Arab World and Africa. She also founded the Arab Network of Science Journalism (May 2021), which gathers scientists and journalists in the Middle East and North Africa.

She started her career in 2008 as a journalist and PR consultant before joining academia in 2013. She was the Academic Program Manager of the Central University of Tunisia member of the Pana African Network “Honoris United Universities” (2019-2022). During this period, she created new academic programs related to market demand.
She is also the co-founder of the Arab Journalism Observatory (2016). She is also the founder and editor-in-chief of the first professional online citizen media in Africa and the Arab World, “Madha Yahduth” (What is happening ?).

She’s also a confirmed consultant with international institutions such as the Arab States Broadcast Union’s academy, Internews, Thomson Reuters Foundation, Friederich Neuman Foundation, and UNDP. She was working as an expert in Science Journalism with DW Academy.

In addition to her Communication and media background, Nouha holds a Master’s in Public Law (Good Governance and combatting corruption).
