About Sherif Abouelhadid

Sherif is a Research Fellow at the Infection Biology Department, London School of Hygiene & Tropical medicine, UK. His research in infectious diseases spans over 13 years in both industry and academia. His research focuses on microbial pathogenesis and vaccine development. Sherif developed a novel biotechnological platform to rapidly develop candidate vaccines at low-cost. This method contributed to developing candidate conjugate vaccines against several serious diseases.

Sherif is a co-founder and chair of the high board at Per-Ankh foundation for science & philosophy, Egypt through which BioKMT society emerged. Per-Ankh foundation aims at developing the biological sciences community in the Middle East and Northern Africa region. This is achieved via establishing a cross-talk between governments and researchers to shape science policies that could benefit the whole region. Additionally, Per-Ankh foundation has a special interest in creating a platform to present scientific content as a means to communicate science effectively across the MENA region.
