About Vera Novais
Vera Novais started as a biologist, changed to environmental education and science communication and since 2014 is a full-time journalist at Observador. One of her missions as the president of SciComPt is to promote good quality science journalism and communication. During her mandate (2020-2023) she wishes to improve interactions and partnerships amongst Portuguese speaking countries, namely their science journalists and communicators.
As a journalist she focus on science and health topics and is keen on debunking misinformation. Vera Novais occasionally writes to foreign media as a freelancer science journalist and often collaborates with the World Federation of Science Journalists (WFSJ).
