Esther Nakkazi is a health and science reporter a media trainer and the founder of the Health Journalists Network in Uganda. Nakkazi trains and mentors journalists in science reporting. She also contributes to various media outlets around the globe. She is a graduate of Makerere University and has a post-graduate from Uganda Management Institute. She won a Knight Science Journalism Fellowship to spend the 2007-08 year at Harvard and MIT in Cambridge. She also spent time as a ‘journalist in residence’ at the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Antwerp in 2016. She is a 2020 Chevening Africa Media Freedom Fellowship fellow.
