Objetivo:
Hablar de los últimos cinco años de cambio de paradigma (2017-2022) en la política científica del país y sus consecuencias. Los científicos han cambiado su papel, pasaron de reunirse con políticos a puerta cerrada y discusiones entre pares, a la necesidad de protestar en calles, plazas y edificios públicos, nuevos colectivos y formas de hacer ciencia. Comenzaron un diálogo con la sociedad.
Descripción de los hechos:
Existen fechas importantes que dan cuenta de estos cambios inesperados para toda la comunidad. Ejemplos desde la cobertura periodística:
La primera marcha por la ciencia
Protestas de investigadores por eliminación de fideicomisos, apoyos y retrasos en becas
Cambios severos en las reglas y sin consenso de la comunidad sobre programas importantes como Cátedras Conacyt y Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI)
La creación de una nueva Ley de Ciencia, Tecnología e Innovación
El caso emblemático del Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) y de los 31 científicos acusados de delincuencia organizada.
Se crean nuevos colectivos como la Red ProCienciaMx

¿La gente ya mira a los científicos?
Es necesario hacer notar que en medio de todos estos movimientos, diversos medios que no daban cobertura de los temas científicos abrieron espacios para cubrir la información, debido al peso y la coyuntura de la información.
La relación de los científicos con los medios de comunicación también cambió, hay más apertura, por otro lado, la relación con la cabeza de sector, el Conacyt, se cerró,
Conclusiones: El periodismo de ciencia ha dado cuenta de los cambios en la política científica del país debido a la coyuntura. Medios que tradicionalmente no estaban cerca de esta información comenzaron a abrir espacios, sin embargo falta profundidad de la información, conocimiento del tema y continuidad en el diálogo con este sector.

Scientists have changed their role, they went from meetings with politicians behind closed doors and discussions among peers, to the need for scientific protests in streets, squares and public buildings, new groups and ways of doing science. A dialogue with society began.

• Protests from researchers for the elimination of trust funds, support and delays in scholarships
• Severe changes in the rules without the community consensus on important programs such as Cátedras Conacyt and the National System of Researchers (SNI in Spanish)
• The creation of a new Science, Technology and Innovation Law
• The emblematic case of the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE) and the 31 scientists accused of organized crime.

Conclusions: Science journalism gave an account of the changes in the country’s scientific policy due to the situation.
